Legal Ontologies

Legal document annotation is integrated with legal ontologies using different knowledge formalization: light linguistic ontology (EUROVOC), linked data modelling (DCAT), legal domain ontology (e.g., privacy, IPR, SDG, AGROVOC), core ontology (e.g., ontology design patterns). Legal ontologies support knowledge graph representation and help the information retrieval using SPARQL queries in order to detect relationships in the complex network of the legal system. Open Government data is one goal of these legal ontologies but also to support smart contract with an homogenous taxonomy of legal concepts and also the legal reasoning in order to make all the application interoperable through a common semantic.
